Castle Dental was in network and near work so it was convenient but that is pretty much it. I have had my teeth cleaned twice a year for as long as I can remember and have gone to 7 or 8 different dentists and this was unlike anything I have ever experienced. It took almost an hour for them to take all of the x-rays. The assistant (she was not a hygienist) would take 1 or 2 pictures and then leave for 5 minutes and then come back and take some more. The dentist I saw was super nice and knowledge and complimented me on my teeth and he could tell I took care of them. I then saw the main hygienist who told that my teeth were in such bad shape I was going to have some sort of special cleaning that I could not have done then and it was going to cost me something like $50 (I can't remember the exact amount). I explained I have never heard of a special cleaning and did not have any complaints 6 months previous at my other dentist and that the dentist here just said I had very nice teeth. My insurance covers 2 cleanings annually and I wanted the cleaning that was covered. They refused to clean my teeth unless I paid for it. I refused and left. There is no privacy between the chairs and as I was waiting I could hear all of the details of the consultation going on next to me. After leaving I went back to my old dentist (who was not in network) and paid $75 to have a regular cleaning. It wasn't the money that was an issue. It was the principal behind Castle refusing to clean my teeth unless I paid them when insurance covers a cleaning.
