Do not use the carwash or expect a problems to be resolved.
I noticed the sign offering a $5 ultimate car wash if purchased inside. So figured, why not? Unfortunately, the result was damage to my pickup. But my major complaint is the lack of help from Mapco on this issue.
I never had problems with automatic car washes before and I noticed several other large pickups using it before I pulled in. However during the wash, the horizontal roller that cleans the windshield and roof hovered aimlessly over the middle of my truck bed before dropping down like a rock onto my truck. I felt my truck bounce, then saw a dent on the top of the side wall of the bed. It is now going to cost me $500 to get fixed.
After I got out, I went inside where there was only 1 employee working during rush hour. I actually felt sorry for the young guy as he was juggling customers and talking on the cell phone with who I assume was his boss. Eventually he found time to complete some forms and asked me for my personal and insurance information. He assured me I would be called back the next day. It has been 3 days so far…. Nothing! I am now having my insurance company go after them.
Very inconvenient car wash experience and lousy management. If you want to avoid headaches, avoid this station.
