Christ is exalted here. They know God's love, and love Him because He first loved us. It is because they love Him that they serve Christ and obey Him. They worship according to how Scripture says, and do church according to how Scripture says--not only because as their Savior and King, Christ has all authority in the church, but because their only hope for any good to come from them is whatever Christ does for them, in them, and through them. Full disclosure: they have just called and received me as their new pastor, but I couldn't be more awed or thankful to labor for such a congregation and under such elders and deacons as they have. Maybe every pastor thinks and feels the same, but this is a special group!
