On 01/12/18 at approximately 12:30pm my wife visited store #3717 to get a few miscellaneous items. As she always does, she parked right outside the Garden Center and used that entrance. She had our two toddlers with her.
After shopping, she proceeded to the Garden Center checkout. The cashier waved her away and said they were closing the checkout.
After using the self checkout, she returned to the Garden Center to exit to our van and the doors were locked. She tried for thirty minutes to get someone to unlock the door so she could exit but they kept telling her to use a different exit. It was below freezing outside, and with a 2 yr old and 4 yr old in tow, she should not have been asked to walk around the building outside in the freezing rain to get back to her car.
After speaking with several managers, one guy, understood to be the GM or AGM, finally arrived. He was rude, much like the other associates, and his response was “Apparently the world comes to an end when I close the Garden Center.”
Seriously!? Is that the caliber of managers you employ at your stores? A mother of two, spending money at your store, and you can’t unlock a door in the middle of the day to let her exit to her nearby van?? Not even an insincere apology for the inconvenience?
This store is a joke. The people who run it are a joke, and the people who support the managers here are a joke.
I expect to be contacted regarding this and at THE VERY LEAST expect an apology for a grown-ass manager acting like a child and making my wife feel stupid for not wanting to walk our children around the building in literally freezing rain.
I’m tired of your worthless employees treating customers like garbage.
Fix it, or I swear you haven’t heard the last from me.
