Call 5 times, ask the exact same question, and I swear you'll get 5 different answers. Point it out, and they'll throw their peers under the bus, saying they don't know why the agents you spoke to previously felt the need to make stuff up, but you're being told the truth this time. If Social Security makes a mistake, your benefits will be help up for months, while you're told repeatedly it's "processing" and you'll be receiving the benefits you're entitled to "any time now". You'll be treated as unintelligent and unclear, as agents tell you what you're telling them to do, which actually has nothing to do with what you're talking about, and is, at times, the exact opposite of what you've clearly stated you're hoping to achieve or find out. It is appalling that a government office is run in this manner, especially one that is responsible for working with people who are disabled, and who have, in a lot of cases, had to fight long legal battles just to get the benefits they should've been entitled to the minute a physician told them they were unable to continue working.
