This was my second visit to purchase from McCosh. On my first visit I was very pleased since I got their Pro-Mix (some mushroom compost + a little finely ground mulch and some quality top soil) for reworking some areas of my front yard which seemed to be hard to grow a quality and quantity of grass even though I had tilled it up prior to seeding so I went to McCosh to look for a better grade of soil than what I could get locally in the Middle Valley area where I live. As I mentioned I was very pleased with the 2 yards (no rocks to speak of and just a little what I call plastic trash) I got about 3 weeks ago and the seeding I did is coming up very nicely so I went back today and purchased 1.5 yards of their Pro-Mix. What I found in this batch consisted of more plastic trash and a number of rocks - sort of disappointing considering the quality I got the first time but what I believe may of happened is that the first time they probably had a better grade of soil or cleaner compost that they were working from and maybe this batch didn't get screened as well as the first batch. So far I like the people I've dealt with and still plan on going back if I'm in need of more topsoil mix but it's like any other business they are dependent on getting the best topsoil they can get at any particular time but it's not always going to be the same quality everytime.
