Lowe's Home Improvement

I tried to flag down a employee to help me find some light fixtures, she said she would find someone that worked in that dept. 15min latter I have to go flag down another employee, he gives me a fixture and assures me it will work. I get home and it does not fit, so I call the manufacturer tech hotline. They tell me that it is not made for that application, they also informed me that it was very common for Lowes to sell their products for applications they were no made for.
