I went in to a few jewelry stores recently to get an idea of what kind of engagement ring I really wanted and how it would look on my finger. The man behind the counter obviously knew about his trade, talked about how they set their own diamonds and create custom sets. He was very informative and low-pressure, especially in comparison to the other jewelry shops we went into. You can definitely tell the difference between a commissioned shop worker and someone who is a jeweler and wants their hard work to please the customer. The prices seemed very reasonable for the quality of the diamonds and settings.
