A really great alternative trail to hike compared to the difficult trails of the Smokey Mountains a couple of hours away.
I just hiked this trail for the first time. I have hiked several of the trails in the smokies and this one was very hard on knees. Heard several hikers going the other way through the loop that I should have hiked the trail counter clockwise. And that is only cause of the orange markers that you don't really see going the other way. After I was given this bit of advise, I found myself turning around and looking for the markers that I would have missed. Fall colors were beautiful, and I can see where people wouldn't enjoy this hike during the summer with standing water and mosquitos. But for early Fall, it was perfect.
