We were moving our mother into the memory care facility at Heritage Irene Woods because her husband is in the assisted living facility at this property. The move had been scheduled for Jan. 13, 2018, but was delayed a week due to an ice storm. Prior to the initial move date, with the approval of Donna English, we ordered a new bed to be delivered to Heritage. Somehow we were under the impression that we could get into her room the night before the move and get a few things set up. Things took a big turn for the worse at this point. When we got to her room the bed was not there, it had been moved because they had broken pipes that week and had to use the room for another resident. They brought the bed back in and my sister and I started arrainging her things. Then Liz Simmons comes in and began ranting at my sister and I for being in the room before the move in date. We understood that we obviously misunderstood that we were allowed to be there, but requested that since we were already there, could we do a few things. This only brought on more ranting and rudeness from Liz, and she stated that we should not have been allowed to have the bed delivered in the first place. Our response was that this would be their problem not ours. This made her even angrier. Some how we managed to meet up with Elizabeth Robinson, the Exective Director, we explained what was going on and that we were not happy being treated so harshly by Liz. So Elizabeth begins scolding us for being there and is equally as rude as Liz. So we left. With much concern for our mothers well being, we decided that living at the same facility as her husband was a good fit for both of them. On the morning of the move I get a phone call from Donna English, she is livid because she had to come to work on a Saturday. She proceeds to scream and yell about how they were right and we wrong, I hung up on her. She called me back to tell me I had 10 minutes to decide if we were moving our mom in. We went and spoke with our step-dad and ask him what he thought about the entire situation, he agreed that the staff were pretty rude to everyone. No we did not move our mother in and our step-father will move out as soon as possible.
