DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Johnson City

The lady that helped me during check-in was friendly and efficient. Combined with the beautiful lobby, this hotel made a great first impression. The room was clean and didn't have any mildewy smell that is so common with hotels. However, there were a lot of little problems. I think there was a problem with the heater, as it was sweltering hot but still pumping out hot air even though it was set to 68 and on auto. I ended up turning it off altogether as no changes to the settings seemed to slow it down. The toilet knob was pulled out a bit, and the tank wouldn't fill until I pushed it in. When flushing, it came back out so you had to be careful to push it back in. And the shower didn't drain very well, so it slowly filled with water. The men who helped me at checkout seemed like maybe he was having a bad day, and wasn't terribly interested in what I tried to tell him about the few issues. It's a nice hotel, in a nice location. The room I had needed a little maintenance, but given that everything else in the hotel seemed well maintained I may have just had bad luck with the room.
